Freedom4Girls believes in opening workplace dialogues surrounding periods to better support menstruators. We do this through informative talks about period poverty, and why it’s so important for menstruators to access period products.
If you are interested in inviting us in for a talk, please get in touch.
We have been partnering with Initial RentoKill for the past 5 years, where for every pad dispenser unit they sell they donate £5 to our charity, and for every pack of pads they sell we receive £1. This is one of our longest standing partnerships and has raised thousands of pounds for us to use towards the delivery of menstrual products to communities desperately in need.
We are working together with the Alpine group to turn pre-consumer textile waste into reusable pads for women living in period poverty in Kenya. They are shipping leftover fabrics from their factory in Egypt which have been cut and prepared ready for our seamstresses in Kenya to transform into period dignity kits. These kits contain reusable pads that can be used for up to 5 years, which we then provide to schools in Mombasa alongside menstrual health education to young girls living in period poverty.
We have partnered with Amazon Alexa to provide Alexa with easily accessible menstrual advice. Our menstrual health education team worked on answers to commonly asked questions such as ‘what is a pad?’ or ‘when will I start my period’ to provide to Alexa. Alexa now refers to our charity and uses our answers to these questions. There is so much misinformation on the internet surrounding periods; providing simple and factual information is key to improving menstrual health education country-wide.
